Broadcast Fall 2026 TV Review:

 NBC:

Lineof Fire: The Hollingsworths are a dedicated family of federal law enforcement agents with positions across the Secret Service, the U.S. Marshals, the DOJ and the FBI. They balance their duty to the country and each other as they solve high-stakes cases, uncover dangerous conspiracies and take down deadly criminals. Like any family, they have their share of secrets, but at the end of the day, they never hesitate to put their lives on the line, working together across every agency to protect their fellow citizens.

Verdict: Renewed. The hope is that NBC actually renews the show not just for a second season but for a third and longer. Since they have a tendency to renew a good show and get people hooked for a second season but no third season. They recently gave it an 18 episode order so that is a positive sign for a renewal. The show itself has plenty of action happening without too much downtime for boring moments or unneeded drama like some one hour shows. There have been so many twists and turns you want to keep watching to see where it goes kind of like a show on streaming where people can binge watch the whole season once it drops. You can assume it is cheesy or not so real in the way the family members work together from one agency to the other; but that has been a good aspect because if someone is working on a case and needs assistance from one family member from another agency it has kept the episode moving forward in a good way. Like most good shows you have the serial plot from week to week solving things but then over the course of a season you have the general overarching for the theme for the season that small pieces get sprinkled in every week. One negative has been you are just kind of thrown into the action right away so you need to see a few episodes before you catch your breath from the pilot episode which introduces you to so many characters, plots and themes. It is a good thing they had graphics to introduce you to the characters and their job title or location. This is Peter Krause(of 911 & Parenthood) first show post his long run on 911, so it is nice to see him land on his feet and helm another show as the patriarchal leader of it. The other notable cast member is Hope Davis (of Your Honor & American Splendor) adding some veteran acting to a cast of mostly unknowns or limited acting history who play their three kids but all so far seem to have been casted very well for their respective roles. The other known actors are playing mostly recurring roles like Chris Chalk(of Gotham & The Newsroom) who is playing the current president, Campbell Scott(of Royal Pains & House of Cards) who plays a senator, Charlie Barnett(of Chicago Fire & The Acolyte) and Sam Waterston(of Law & Order & The Great Gatsby) playing a former president.
