Eagles 15-12 over the Saints: RB Saquon Barkley was the hero/star of the game for the Eagles with two rushing TDs and one was the go ahead score late and also had the two-point conversion. This was in spite of no TD passes with an interception/a fumble by QB Jalen Hurts plus the kicker missed a field goal. QB Derek Carr threw only one TD pass, but had an interception.

Steelers 20-10 over the Chargers: The Chargers had two fumbles and not just lost the game but also lost their QB Justin Hebert who re-injured his ankle. QB Justin Fields had both a passing TD and rushing TD.

Broncos 26-7 over the Buccaneers: Denver got two rushing TDs and kicker Wil Lutz accounted for 14 points. QB Baker Mayfield only had one TD pass but had an interception.

QB Deshaun Watson did have two TD passes to WR Amari Cooper but had two fumbles, failed on a two-point conversion and their kicker missed a field goal.

Panthers 36-22 over the Raiders: Well, the benching of QB Bryce Young worked out as QB Andy Dalton had three passing TDs and RB Chuba Hubbard had over 100 yards rushing with a receiving TD, plus RB Miles Sanders had one rushing TD. Interestingly enough, both Raiders QB threw TD passes. The Raiders did also miss a field goal.

Seahawks 24-3 over the Dolphins: Seattle’s defense held the Dolphins to only 205 yards with a field goal and forced three fumbles. QB Geno Smith didn’t have the best game with a fumble and two interceptions but didn’t have to do much as backup RB Zach Charbonnet had two rushing TDs. Both teams missed field goals

Ravens 28-25 over the Cowboys: Dallas was down 28-6 entering the fourth quarter as QB Dak Prescott did his best but wasn’t enough with two passing TDs and a rushing TD, but they failed on two, two pt. conversions. Baltimore ran all over Dallas for 274 yards as RB Derrick Henry had two rushing TDs and QB Lamar Jackson had a rushing and a passing TD.

Rams 27-24 over the 49ersThe Rams hit the game winning field with seconds left. RB Kyren Williams had two rushing TDs and caught one TD pass for the Rams, while QB Brock Purdy had three passing TDs.

Commanders 38-31 over the Bengals: Washington was up 21-13 at halftime and never looked back as they got three rushing TDs from their RBs and QB Jayden Daniels, plus he threw two TD passes. QB Joe Burrow did his best with three TD passes but it wasn’t enough in the end plus his kicker missed a field goal.

JPEG Raw-Gary Clark Jr Album Review:

Gary Clark Jr. is back with his fourth studio album JPEG Raw, his first in five years (This Land). JPEG Raw is an acronym for Jealousy, Pride, Envy, Greed, Rules, Alter Ego, and Worlds. The album came out of a time period in which Clark Jr. would find himself alone in the studio during COVID-19 quarantined in March 2020, trying to set himself back to when he first started making music at the age of 12. He explained that JPEG Raw is about "showing the real and not the edit" as he grew tired of not having "more genuine interaction" due to a "world of edits, filters and redos". The album finds him expanding on his palette of influences, including traditional African musicjazzrockR&Bhip-hop, and blues.

One thing that Clark deserves credit for is that it is a full album of twelve songs and the album lasts almost one hour.  He also has five guests on the album including Stevie Wonder and George Clinton. You can tell how much work he put into this album with some very well thought out tracks and his playing over ten instruments. It also has a nice balance of fast and slow paced songs.

Tracks like “Maktub”, “JPEG Raw” and “This is who we are” all rock out, are good tracks but Clark does it fast talking-rapping which isn’t the best or really goes with his rock vibe. The second one has a bluesy old school style to it but is more emotional as well. The third one has a cool opening riff to it with like a choir in the background and sounds like a really good production is being put on.

The track “To the end of the Earth” is a nice quiet and quick song which is a nice easy transition to harder stuff coming or more complicated stuff. Like the song “Alone together” that is a very emotional slower track which has a message about being together and being alone.

One of the best songs is “What about the Children” has the R&B Stevie Wonder singing on the track but also co-wrote it with Clark, it is such a groovy song that also rocks out blending R&B with rock well. The other really groovy song is “Funk witch u”, it is very funky but rocks out and is a very clever play on words.

Hearts in Retrograde” is one of his more interesting songs which has a cool sound to it like UFO noises which like other songs on this album; like he put a whole production for this track with a catchy chorus but it rocks out as well. “Hyperwave” is also a good example of a good song that rocks out but has a nice-slower tone to it. There is one bad song “Don’t Start” that starts off very weird and just is eh nothing special.

The album ends with two very emotional-quieter tracks but also the two longest tracks. The track “Triumph” has a great message, it is very catchy but does have its moments when it rocks out but is one of the better tracks. It blends an emotional message with a good rocking out. While the final track “Habits” comes in at nine minutes and completely changes the mood/vibe of the song three minutes into it. It definitely fits the vibe of a good emotional-slower track that gives perspective into his life. It is mostly an instrumental rocking out on his guitar for most of the ending of the song.

Let’s give Clark some real credit here as most artists do not write most of their songs or play one instrument let alone ten or more. He decided he was tired of filters/edits/ that he made a wonderful album from start to end of all original ideas. He continues to be a master of blending the blues with rock music and this album isn’t any different.

NFL Recap Week 2 2024:

Bills 31-10 over the Dolphins: It was the RB James Cook show with two rushing TDs and catching the only TD pass from QB Josh Allen. Their defense forced QB Tua Tagovailoa into three interceptions with one being returned for a TD.

Raiders 26-23 over the Ravens: Late in the 4th quarter while down the Raiders came back with two field goals and a TD to complete the comeback, as one field goal was made with seconds left on the clock. Daniel Carlson accounted for 14 of their points and for the Ravens Justin Tucker accounted for 11 but also missed a field goal.

Browns 18-13 over the JaguarsJacksonville trailed the whole game only having field goals till RB Travis Etienne had a rushing TD late but the game was sealed much earlier. It didn’t help that QB Trevor Lawrence got sacked in the end zone for a safety late. Both QBs had no passing TDs, both teams had fumbles, but the major difference was the Jaguars missing a field goal while Cleveland was perfect on their kicks.

Saints 44-19 over the Cowboys: It was the RB Alvin Kamara show as he had 115 yards rushing with three rushing TDs and he caught one TD pass from QB Derek Carr who threw two plus had one rushing TD. QB Dak Prescott had one fumble and two interceptions and if it weren’t for their kicker it would have been uglier as he accounted for 14 of their points.

Buccaneers 20-16 over the Lions: QB Baker Mayfield out played QB Jared Goff: Mayfield had both a passing TD and a rushing TD while Goff had zero TD passes with two interceptions. Jahmyr Gibbs had Detroit’s only TD.

Packers 16-10 over the Colts: It was all Green Bay as backup QB Malik Willis threw his first career TD pass. QB Anthony Richardson had two of his team’s three fumbles and threw three interceptions as his TD was a late garbage time TD. Both kickers did miss field goals though.

Jets 24-17 over the Titans: QB Aaron Rodgers got his first Jets win by throwing 2 TD passes and out playing QB Will Levis who had one TD pass but an interception and a fumble. Backup RB Braelon Allen had a rushing TD and caught 2 of Rogers’ TD passes. WR Calvin Ridley had both a receiving and a rushing TD.

Vikings 23-17 over the 49ers: QB Brock Purdy had one of his team’s three fumbles and threw an interception while being out played by his former backup in QB Sam Darnold. Darnold had two passing TDs and their kicker accounted for 11 of their points.

Seahawks 23-20 over the Patriots (OT): As time expired the Seahawks tied the game on a field goal and then won it on a game winning field goal in overtime. The Patriots though missed a field goal as it was blocked and had a fumble. Both teams had one rushing TD and one passing TD.

Chargers 26-3 over the Panthers: It was all Chargers as QB Justin Herbert had two passing TDs and JK Dobbins ran all over for 131 yards with a rushing TD. QB Bryce Young had zero TD passes with an interception.

Cardinals 41-10 over the Rams: QB Kyler Murray woke up by throwing three TD passes, two of them going to rookie WR Marvin Harrison(130 yards receiving) and RB James Connor had a rushing TD(122 yards rushing). All that Los Angeles could muster was a rushing TD late.

Commanders 21-18 over the Giants: QB Daniel Jones had no turnovers and threw two TD passes to his young receivers and their new RB Devin Singletary had a rushing TD. But they lost on a game winning field goal by Austin Seibert. He scored all their points for Washington as rookie QB Jayden Daniels had no TDs. The Giants missed a field goal and a two two-point conversion attempt which was the difference.

Steelers 13-6 over the Broncos: In the QB Russell Wilson Bowl (he didn’t play) as Denver again looked terrible on offense. Rookie QB Bo Nix had zero TD passes with two interceptions. QB Justin Fields wasn’t that much better with a fumble and only one TD pass but it was enough.

Chiefs 26-25 over the Bengals: The Chiefs scored a game winning field goal as time expired. Both QBs in Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow had two TD passes, but Mahomes did have two interceptions and Burrow had two of his team’s three fumbles. Evan McPherson was key in keeping the Bengals in the game as he accounted for thirteen of their points.

Texan 19-13 over the Bears: The Bears offense looked pitiful and this opponent wasn’t bad so it didn’t fly. Rookie QB Caleb Williams had no TD passes with two interceptions as his defense and special teams didn’t help him out like in week 1. It was his offensive line allowing seven sacks.  QB CJ Stroud wasn’t special but he didn’t have to be with one TD pass and relying on his defense and kicker to help for the win.

Falcons 22-21 over the Eagles: The Eagles were up 21-15 with 38 seconds left and lost. QB Kirk Cousins threw the game winning TD pass, his second of the game. QB Jalen Hurts did have one passing and one rushing TD for the Eagles but threw an interception to end the game.
